Abundant marine life can be found at some very popular dive sites on pilings. Titlow Beach Marine Preserve in Tacoma, Edmonds Oil Dock, Keystone State Park on Whidbey Island are but a few sites in Puget Sound that are great diver attractions. Titlow Beach in particular is used for conducting fish and invertebrate life training dives for REEF survey classes. (all photos by Janna Nichols, please credit if used)
The pilings of an old ferry dock at Titlow Beach Marine Preserve Area, Tacoma. Divers are attracted to the abundant marine life growing on these old pilings. They also provide shelter from the current that flows through that area.
