The SeaDoc Society sponsored and organized a weeklong dive project to help monitor the Voluntary Bottomfish Recovery zones in the San Juan Islands. Marine biologist Eric Eisenhardt led the study both this year and in years past. The study covered 3 reserves: Bell Island, Long Island, and Limekiln Point. We conducted 2 dives at each site throughout the week, along with 2 dives at a nearby control site for comparison. Data was collected through transect surveys, as well as REEF surveys.
